CVE-2017-1000101 | 2 Haxx, Redhat | 2 Curl, Rhel Software Collections | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
curl supports "globbing" of URLs, in which a user can pass a numerical range to have the tool iterate over those numbers to do a sequence of transfers. In the globbing function that parses the numerical range, there was an omission that made curl read a byte beyond the end of the URL if given a carefully crafted, or just wrongly written, URL. The URL is stored in a heap based buffer, so it could then be made to wrongly read something else instead of crashing. An example of a URL that triggers the flaw would be `http://ur%20[0-60000000000000000000`.
CVE-2015-8763 | 1 Freeradius | 1 Freeradius | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
The EAP-PWD module in FreeRADIUS 3.0 through 3.0.8 allows remote attackers to have unspecified impact via a crafted (1) commit or (2) confirm message, which triggers an out-of-bounds read.
CVE-2015-8897 | 2 Imagemagick, Redhat | 2 Imagemagick, Enterprise Linux | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
The SpliceImage function in MagickCore/transform.c in ImageMagick before 6.9.2-4 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted png file.
CVE-2015-8957 | 1 Imagemagick | 1 Imagemagick | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
Buffer overflow in ImageMagick before 6.9.0-4 Beta allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted SUN file.
CVE-2015-8958 | 1 Imagemagick | 1 Imagemagick | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
coders/sun.c in ImageMagick before 6.9.0-4 Beta allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and application crash) via a crafted SUN file.
CVE-2015-9101 | 1 Lame Project | 1 Lame | 2025-04-20 | 5.5 Medium |
The fill_buffer_resample function in util.c in libmp3lame.a in LAME 3.98.4, 3.98.2, 3.98, 3.99, 3.99.1, 3.99.2, 3.99.3, 3.99.4 and 3.99.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read and application crash) via a crafted audio file.
CVE-2016-10161 | 2 Php, Redhat | 2 Php, Rhel Software Collections | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
The object_common1 function in ext/standard/var_unserializer.c in PHP before 5.6.30, 7.0.x before 7.0.15, and 7.1.x before 7.1.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (buffer over-read and application crash) via crafted serialized data that is mishandled in a finish_nested_data call.
CVE-2017-7742 | 1 Libsndfile Project | 1 Libsndfile | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
In libsndfile before 1.0.28, an error in the "flac_buffer_copy()" function (flac.c) can be exploited to cause a segmentation violation (with read memory access) via a specially crafted FLAC file during a resample attempt, a similar issue to CVE-2017-7585.
CVE-2017-17942 | 1 Libtiff | 1 Libtiff | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
In LibTIFF 4.0.9, there is a heap-based buffer over-read in the function PackBitsEncode in tif_packbits.c.
CVE-2017-8872 | 1 Xmlsoft | 1 Libxml2 | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
The htmlParseTryOrFinish function in HTMLparser.c in libxml2 2.9.4 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (buffer over-read) or information disclosure.
CVE-2017-6347 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-04-20 | 7.8 High |
The ip_cmsg_recv_checksum function in net/ipv4/ip_sockglue.c in the Linux kernel before 4.10.1 has incorrect expectations about skb data layout, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (buffer over-read) or possibly have unspecified other impact via crafted system calls, as demonstrated by use of the MSG_MORE flag in conjunction with loopback UDP transmission.
CVE-2017-5601 | 1 Libarchive | 1 Libarchive | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
An error in the lha_read_file_header_1() function (archive_read_support_format_lha.c) in libarchive 3.2.2 allows remote attackers to trigger an out-of-bounds read memory access and subsequently cause a crash via a specially crafted archive.
CVE-2017-16808 | 1 Tcpdump | 1 Tcpdump | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
tcpdump before 4.9.3 has a heap-based buffer over-read related to aoe_print in print-aoe.c and lookup_emem in addrtoname.c.
CVE-2017-1000257 | 3 Debian, Haxx, Redhat | 5 Debian Linux, Libcurl, Enterprise Linux and 2 more | 2025-04-20 | N/A |
An IMAP FETCH response line indicates the size of the returned data, in number of bytes. When that response says the data is zero bytes, libcurl would pass on that (non-existing) data with a pointer and the size (zero) to the deliver-data function. libcurl's deliver-data function treats zero as a magic number and invokes strlen() on the data to figure out the length. The strlen() is called on a heap based buffer that might not be zero terminated so libcurl might read beyond the end of it into whatever memory lies after (or just crash) and then deliver that to the application as if it was actually downloaded.
