CVE-2018-1126 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Procps-ng Project and 2 more | 13 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Procps-ng and 10 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
procps-ng before version 3.3.15 is vulnerable to an incorrect integer size in proc/alloc.* leading to truncation/integer overflow issues. This flaw is related to CVE-2018-1124.
CVE-2018-1124 | 6 Canonical, Debian, Opensuse and 3 more | 13 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Leap and 10 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
procps-ng before version 3.3.15 is vulnerable to multiple integer overflows leading to a heap corruption in file2strvec function. This allows a privilege escalation for a local attacker who can create entries in procfs by starting processes, which could result in crashes or arbitrary code execution in proc utilities run by other users.
CVE-2018-1122 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Procps-ng Project and 1 more | 9 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Procps-ng and 6 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
procps-ng before version 3.3.15 is vulnerable to a local privilege escalation in top. If a user runs top with HOME unset in an attacker-controlled directory, the attacker could achieve privilege escalation by exploiting one of several vulnerabilities in the config_file() function.
CVE-2018-1120 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more | 13 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 10 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
A flaw was found affecting the Linux kernel before version 4.17. By mmap()ing a FUSE-backed file onto a process's memory containing command line arguments (or environment strings), an attacker can cause utilities from psutils or procps (such as ps, w) or any other program which makes a read() call to the /proc/<pid>/cmdline (or /proc/<pid>/environ) files to block indefinitely (denial of service) or for some controlled time (as a synchronization primitive for other attacks).
CVE-2018-1111 | 2 Fedoraproject, Redhat | 11 Fedora, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 8 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
DHCP packages in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7, Fedora 28, and earlier are vulnerable to a command injection flaw in the NetworkManager integration script included in the DHCP client. A malicious DHCP server, or an attacker on the local network able to spoof DHCP responses, could use this flaw to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges on systems using NetworkManager and configured to obtain network configuration using the DHCP protocol.
CVE-2018-1087 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more | 16 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 13 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
kernel KVM before versions kernel 4.16, kernel 4.16-rc7, kernel 4.17-rc1, kernel 4.17-rc2 and kernel 4.17-rc3 is vulnerable to a flaw in the way the Linux kernel's KVM hypervisor handled exceptions delivered after a stack switch operation via Mov SS or Pop SS instructions. During the stack switch operation, the processor did not deliver interrupts and exceptions, rather they are delivered once the first instruction after the stack switch is executed. An unprivileged KVM guest user could use this flaw to crash the guest or, potentially, escalate their privileges in the guest.
CVE-2018-1068 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more | 17 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 14 more | 2024-11-21 | 6.7 Medium |
A flaw was found in the Linux 4.x kernel's implementation of 32-bit syscall interface for bridging. This allowed a privileged user to arbitrarily write to a limited range of kernel memory.
CVE-2018-1061 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 14 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 11 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
python before versions 2.7.15, 3.4.9, 3.5.6rc1, 3.6.5rc1 and 3.7.0 is vulnerable to catastrophic backtracking in the difflib.IS_LINE_JUNK method. An attacker could use this flaw to cause denial of service.
CVE-2018-1060 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 14 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 11 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
python before versions 2.7.15, 3.4.9, 3.5.6rc1, 3.6.5rc1 and 3.7.0 is vulnerable to catastrophic backtracking in pop3lib's apop() method. An attacker could use this flaw to cause denial of service.
CVE-2018-18559 | 2 Linux, Redhat | 16 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop and 13 more | 2024-11-21 | 8.1 High |
In the Linux kernel through 4.19, a use-after-free can occur due to a race condition between fanout_add from setsockopt and bind on an AF_PACKET socket. This issue exists because of the 15fe076edea787807a7cdc168df832544b58eba6 incomplete fix for a race condition. The code mishandles a certain multithreaded case involving a packet_do_bind unregister action followed by a packet_notifier register action. Later, packet_release operates on only one of the two applicable linked lists. The attacker can achieve Program Counter control.
CVE-2018-18311 | 8 Apple, Canonical, Debian and 5 more | 23 Mac Os X, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 20 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
Perl before 5.26.3 and 5.28.x before 5.28.1 has a buffer overflow via a crafted regular expression that triggers invalid write operations.
CVE-2018-18281 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Linux and 1 more | 10 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Linux Kernel and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
Since Linux kernel version 3.2, the mremap() syscall performs TLB flushes after dropping pagetable locks. If a syscall such as ftruncate() removes entries from the pagetables of a task that is in the middle of mremap(), a stale TLB entry can remain for a short time that permits access to a physical page after it has been released back to the page allocator and reused. This is fixed in the following kernel versions: 4.9.135, 4.14.78, 4.18.16, 4.19.
CVE-2018-16866 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Netapp and 2 more | 26 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Active Iq Performance Analytics Services and 23 more | 2024-11-21 | 3.3 Low |
An out of bounds read was discovered in systemd-journald in the way it parses log messages that terminate with a colon ':'. A local attacker can use this flaw to disclose process memory data. Versions from v221 to v239 are vulnerable.
CVE-2018-16865 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Oracle and 2 more | 16 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Communications Session Border Controller and 13 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
An allocation of memory without limits, that could result in the stack clashing with another memory region, was discovered in systemd-journald when many entries are sent to the journal socket. A local attacker, or a remote one if systemd-journal-remote is used, may use this flaw to crash systemd-journald or execute code with journald privileges. Versions through v240 are vulnerable.
CVE-2018-16864 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Oracle and 2 more | 16 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Communications Session Border Controller and 13 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
An allocation of memory without limits, that could result in the stack clashing with another memory region, was discovered in systemd-journald when a program with long command line arguments calls syslog. A local attacker may use this flaw to crash systemd-journald or escalate his privileges. Versions through v240 are vulnerable.
CVE-2018-16396 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more | 9 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux and 6 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
An issue was discovered in Ruby before 2.3.8, 2.4.x before 2.4.5, 2.5.x before 2.5.2, and 2.6.x before 2.6.0-preview3. It does not taint strings that result from unpacking tainted strings with some formats.
CVE-2018-15686 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Oracle and 2 more | 10 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Communications Cloud Native Core Network Function Cloud Native Environment and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
A vulnerability in unit_deserialize of systemd allows an attacker to supply arbitrary state across systemd re-execution via NotifyAccess. This can be used to improperly influence systemd execution and possibly lead to root privilege escalation. Affected releases are systemd versions up to and including 239.
CVE-2018-14647 | 6 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more | 15 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 12 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
Python's elementtree C accelerator failed to initialise Expat's hash salt during initialization. This could make it easy to conduct denial of service attacks against Expat by constructing an XML document that would cause pathological hash collisions in Expat's internal data structures, consuming large amounts CPU and RAM. The vulnerability exists in Python versions 3.7.0, 3.6.0 through 3.6.6, 3.5.0 through 3.5.6, 3.4.0 through 3.4.9, 2.7.0 through 2.7.15.
CVE-2018-14634 | 4 Canonical, Linux, Netapp and 1 more | 16 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Active Iq Performance Analytics Services and 13 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
An integer overflow flaw was found in the Linux kernel's create_elf_tables() function. An unprivileged local user with access to SUID (or otherwise privileged) binary could use this flaw to escalate their privileges on the system. Kernel versions 2.6.x, 3.10.x and 4.14.x are believed to be vulnerable.
CVE-2018-13405 | 6 Canonical, Debian, F5 and 3 more | 34 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Big-ip Access Policy Manager and 31 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
The inode_init_owner function in fs/inode.c in the Linux kernel through 3.16 allows local users to create files with an unintended group ownership, in a scenario where a directory is SGID to a certain group and is writable by a user who is not a member of that group. Here, the non-member can trigger creation of a plain file whose group ownership is that group. The intended behavior was that the non-member can trigger creation of a directory (but not a plain file) whose group ownership is that group. The non-member can escalate privileges by making the plain file executable and SGID. |
