CVE-2020-1971 | 9 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 6 more | 55 Debian Linux, Fedora, Active Iq Unified Manager and 52 more | 2024-11-21 | 5.9 Medium |
The X.509 GeneralName type is a generic type for representing different types of names. One of those name types is known as EDIPartyName. OpenSSL provides a function GENERAL_NAME_cmp which compares different instances of a GENERAL_NAME to see if they are equal or not. This function behaves incorrectly when both GENERAL_NAMEs contain an EDIPARTYNAME. A NULL pointer dereference and a crash may occur leading to a possible denial of service attack. OpenSSL itself uses the GENERAL_NAME_cmp function for two purposes: 1) Comparing CRL distribution point names between an available CRL and a CRL distribution point embedded in an X509 certificate 2) When verifying that a timestamp response token signer matches the timestamp authority name (exposed via the API functions TS_RESP_verify_response and TS_RESP_verify_token) If an attacker can control both items being compared then that attacker could trigger a crash. For example if the attacker can trick a client or server into checking a malicious certificate against a malicious CRL then this may occur. Note that some applications automatically download CRLs based on a URL embedded in a certificate. This checking happens prior to the signatures on the certificate and CRL being verified. OpenSSL's s_server, s_client and verify tools have support for the "-crl_download" option which implements automatic CRL downloading and this attack has been demonstrated to work against those tools. Note that an unrelated bug means that affected versions of OpenSSL cannot parse or construct correct encodings of EDIPARTYNAME. However it is possible to construct a malformed EDIPARTYNAME that OpenSSL's parser will accept and hence trigger this attack. All OpenSSL 1.1.1 and 1.0.2 versions are affected by this issue. Other OpenSSL releases are out of support and have not been checked. Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.1i (Affected 1.1.1-1.1.1h). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.0.2x (Affected 1.0.2-1.0.2w).
CVE-2020-1967 | 10 Broadcom, Debian, Fedoraproject and 7 more | 26 Fabric Operating System, Debian Linux, Fedora and 23 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
Server or client applications that call the SSL_check_chain() function during or after a TLS 1.3 handshake may crash due to a NULL pointer dereference as a result of incorrect handling of the "signature_algorithms_cert" TLS extension. The crash occurs if an invalid or unrecognised signature algorithm is received from the peer. This could be exploited by a malicious peer in a Denial of Service attack. OpenSSL version 1.1.1d, 1.1.1e, and 1.1.1f are affected by this issue. This issue did not affect OpenSSL versions prior to 1.1.1d. Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.1g (Affected 1.1.1d-1.1.1f).
CVE-2019-5482 | 7 Debian, Fedoraproject, Haxx and 4 more | 24 Debian Linux, Fedora, Curl and 21 more | 2024-11-21 | 9.8 Critical |
Heap buffer overflow in the TFTP protocol handler in cURL 7.19.4 to 7.65.3.
CVE-2019-5443 | 4 Haxx, Microsoft, Netapp and 1 more | 10 Curl, Windows, Oncommand Insight and 7 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
A non-privileged user or program can put code and a config file in a known non-privileged path (under C:/usr/local/) that will make curl <= 7.65.1 automatically run the code (as an openssl "engine") on invocation. If that curl is invoked by a privileged user it can do anything it wants.
CVE-2019-3823 | 6 Canonical, Debian, Haxx and 3 more | 9 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Libcurl and 6 more | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
libcurl versions from 7.34.0 to before 7.64.0 are vulnerable to a heap out-of-bounds read in the code handling the end-of-response for SMTP. If the buffer passed to `smtp_endofresp()` isn't NUL terminated and contains no character ending the parsed number, and `len` is set to 5, then the `strtol()` call reads beyond the allocated buffer. The read contents will not be returned to the caller.
CVE-2019-3822 | 7 Canonical, Debian, Haxx and 4 more | 17 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Libcurl and 14 more | 2024-11-21 | 9.8 Critical |
libcurl versions from 7.36.0 to before 7.64.0 are vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow. The function creating an outgoing NTLM type-3 header (`lib/vauth/ntlm.c:Curl_auth_create_ntlm_type3_message()`), generates the request HTTP header contents based on previously received data. The check that exists to prevent the local buffer from getting overflowed is implemented wrongly (using unsigned math) and as such it does not prevent the overflow from happening. This output data can grow larger than the local buffer if very large 'nt response' data is extracted from a previous NTLMv2 header provided by the malicious or broken HTTP server. Such a 'large value' needs to be around 1000 bytes or more. The actual payload data copied to the target buffer comes from the NTLMv2 type-2 response header.
CVE-2019-2751 | 1 Oracle | 1 Http Server | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
Vulnerability in the Oracle HTTP Server component of Oracle Fusion Middleware (subcomponent: OHS Config MBeans). Supported versions that are affected are 12.1.3.0.0 and 12.2.1.3.0. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle HTTP Server accessible data. CVSS 3.0 Base Score 5.9 (Confidentiality impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N).
CVE-2019-2414 | 1 Oracle | 1 Http Server | 2024-11-21 | N/A |
Vulnerability in the Oracle HTTP Server component of Oracle Fusion Middleware (subcomponent: Web Listener). The supported version that is affected is 12.2.1.3. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with logon to the infrastructure where Oracle HTTP Server executes to compromise Oracle HTTP Server. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in takeover of Oracle HTTP Server. CVSS 3.0 Base Score 7.8 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H). |
