An Out-of-bounds Read vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved's routing protocol daemon (rpd) allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to send malformed BGP packets to a device configured with packet receive trace options enabled to crash rpd. This issue affects: Junos OS: * from 21.2R3-S8 before 21.2R3-S9, * from 21.4R3-S7 before 21.4R3-S9, * from 22.2R3-S4 before 22.2R3-S5, * from 22.3R3-S2 before 22.3R3-S4, * from 22.4R3 before 22.4R3-S5, * from 23.2R2 before 23.2R2-S2, * from 23.4R1 before 23.4R2-S1, * from 24.2R1 before 24.2R1-S1, 24.2R2. Junos OS Evolved: * from 21.4R3-S7-EVO before 21.4R3-S9-EVO, * from 22.2R3-S4-EVO before 22.2R3-S5-EVO, * from 22.3R3-S2-EVO before 22.3R3-S4-EVO, * from 22.4R3-EVO before 22.4R3-S5-EVO, * from 23.2R2-EVO before 23.2R2-S2-EVO, * from 23.4R1-EVO before 23.4R2-S1-EVO, * from 24.2R1-EVO before 24.2R1-S2-EVO, 24.2R2-EVO. This issue requires a BGP session to be established. This issue can propagate and multiply through multiple ASes until reaching vulnerable devices. This issue affects iBGP and eBGP. This issue affects IPv4 and IPv6. An indicator of compromise may be the presence of malformed update messages in a neighboring AS which is unaffected by this issue: For example, by issuing the command on the neighboring device: show log messages Reviewing for similar messages from devices within proximity to each other may indicate this malformed packet is propagating: rpd[<pid>]: Received malformed update from <IP address> (External AS <AS#>) and rpd[<pid>]: Malformed Attribute

CVE-2024-41086 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-07-13 | 5.5 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bcachefs: Fix sb_field_downgrade validation - bch2_sb_downgrade_validate() wasn't checking for a downgrade entry extending past the end of the superblock section - for_each_downgrade_entry() is used in to_text() and needs to work on malformed input; it also was missing a check for a field extending past the end of the section
CVE-2024-42118 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-07-13 | 5.2 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Do not return negative stream id for array [WHY] resource_stream_to_stream_idx returns an array index and it return -1 when not found; however, -1 is not a valid array index number. [HOW] When this happens, call ASSERT(), and return a zero instead. This fixes an OVERRUN and an NEGATIVE_RETURNS issues reported by Coverity.
CVE-2022-48807 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-07-13 | 4.4 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: Fix KASAN error in LAG NETDEV_UNREGISTER handler Currently, the same handler is called for both a NETDEV_BONDING_INFO LAG unlink notification as for a NETDEV_UNREGISTER call. This is causing a problem though, since the netdev_notifier_info passed has a different structure depending on which event is passed. The problem manifests as a call trace from a BUG: KASAN stack-out-of-bounds error. Fix this by creating a handler specific to NETDEV_UNREGISTER that only is passed valid elements in the netdev_notifier_info struct for the NETDEV_UNREGISTER event. Also included is the removal of an unbalanced dev_put on the peer_netdev and related braces.
CVE-2022-49444 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-07-13 | 6.1 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: module: fix [e_shstrndx].sh_size=0 OOB access It is trivial to craft a module to trigger OOB access in this line: if (info->secstrings[strhdr->sh_size - 1] != '\0') { BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffc90000aa0fff PGD 100000067 P4D 100000067 PUD 100066067 PMD 10436f067 PTE 0 Oops: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP PTI CPU: 7 PID: 1215 Comm: insmod Not tainted 5.18.0-rc5-00007-g9bf578647087-dirty #10 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.14.0-4.fc34 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:load_module+0x19b/0x2391 [rebased patch onto modules-next]
CVE-2024-42117 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-07-13 | 5.2 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: ASSERT when failing to find index by plane/stream id [WHY] find_disp_cfg_idx_by_plane_id and find_disp_cfg_idx_by_stream_id returns an array index and they return -1 when not found; however, -1 is not a valid index number. [HOW] When this happens, call ASSERT(), and return a positive number (which is fewer than callers' array size) instead. This fixes 4 OVERRUN and 2 NEGATIVE_RETURNS issues reported by Coverity.

CVE-2024-57923 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-07-13 | 7.1 High |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: zlib: fix avail_in bytes for s390 zlib HW compression path Since the input data length passed to zlib_compress_folios() can be arbitrary, always setting strm.avail_in to a multiple of PAGE_SIZE may cause read-in bytes to exceed the input range. Currently this triggers an assert in btrfs_compress_folios() on the debug kernel (see below). Fix strm.avail_in calculation for S390 hardware acceleration path. assertion failed: *total_in <= orig_len, in fs/btrfs/compression.c:1041 ------------[ cut here ]------------ kernel BUG at fs/btrfs/compression.c:1041! monitor event: 0040 ilc:2 [#1] PREEMPT SMP CPU: 16 UID: 0 PID: 325 Comm: kworker/u273:3 Not tainted 6.13.0-20241204.rc1.git6.fae3b21430ca.300.fc41.s390x+debug #1 Hardware name: IBM 3931 A01 703 (z/VM 7.4.0) Workqueue: btrfs-delalloc btrfs_work_helper Krnl PSW : 0704d00180000000 0000021761df6538 (btrfs_compress_folios+0x198/0x1a0) R:0 T:1 IO:1 EX:1 Key:0 M:1 W:0 P:0 AS:3 CC:1 PM:0 RI:0 EA:3 Krnl GPRS: 0000000080000000 0000000000000001 0000000000000047 0000000000000000 0000000000000006 ffffff01757bb000 000001976232fcc0 000000000000130c 000001976232fcd0 000001976232fcc8 00000118ff4a0e30 0000000000000001 00000111821ab400 0000011100000000 0000021761df6534 000001976232fb58 Krnl Code: 0000021761df6528: c020006f5ef4 larl %r2,0000021762be2310 0000021761df652e: c0e5ffbd09d5 brasl %r14,00000217615978d8 #0000021761df6534: af000000 mc 0,0 >0000021761df6538: 0707 bcr 0,%r7 0000021761df653a: 0707 bcr 0,%r7 0000021761df653c: 0707 bcr 0,%r7 0000021761df653e: 0707 bcr 0,%r7 0000021761df6540: c004004bb7ec brcl 0,000002176276d518 Call Trace: [<0000021761df6538>] btrfs_compress_folios+0x198/0x1a0 ([<0000021761df6534>] btrfs_compress_folios+0x194/0x1a0) [<0000021761d97788>] compress_file_range+0x3b8/0x6d0 [<0000021761dcee7c>] btrfs_work_helper+0x10c/0x160 [<0000021761645760>] process_one_work+0x2b0/0x5d0 [<000002176164637e>] worker_thread+0x20e/0x3e0 [<000002176165221a>] kthread+0x15a/0x170 [<00000217615b859c>] __ret_from_fork+0x3c/0x60 [<00000217626e72d2>] ret_from_fork+0xa/0x38 INFO: lockdep is turned off. CVE-2024-41018 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-07-13 | 6.3 Medium |

CVE-2024-38659 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2025-07-13 | 5.5 Medium |
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: enic: Validate length of nl attributes in enic_set_vf_port enic_set_vf_port assumes that the nl attribute IFLA_PORT_PROFILE is of length PORT_PROFILE_MAX and that the nl attributes IFLA_PORT_INSTANCE_UUID, IFLA_PORT_HOST_UUID are of length PORT_UUID_MAX. These attributes are validated (in the function do_setlink in rtnetlink.c) using the nla_policy ifla_port_policy. The policy defines IFLA_PORT_PROFILE as NLA_STRING, IFLA_PORT_INSTANCE_UUID as NLA_BINARY and IFLA_PORT_HOST_UUID as NLA_STRING. That means that the length validation using the policy is for the max size of the attributes and not on exact size so the length of these attributes might be less than the sizes that enic_set_vf_port expects. This might cause an out of bands read access in the memcpys of the data of these attributes in enic_set_vf_port.
CVE-2024-36124 | 1 Dain | 1 Snappy | 2025-07-13 | 5.3 Medium |
iq80 Snappy is a compression/decompression library. When uncompressing certain data, Snappy tries to read outside the bounds of the given byte arrays. Because Snappy uses the JDK class `sun.misc.Unsafe` to speed up memory access, no additional bounds checks are performed and this has similar security consequences as out-of-bounds access in C or C++, namely it can lead to non-deterministic behavior or crash the JVM. iq80 Snappy is not actively maintained anymore. As quick fix users can upgrade to version 0.5. |
