CVE-2021-39140 | 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 3 more | 21 Debian Linux, Fedora, Snapmanager and 18 more | 2024-11-21 | 6.5 Medium |
XStream is a simple library to serialize objects to XML and back again. In affected versions this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to allocate 100% CPU time on the target system depending on CPU type or parallel execution of such a payload resulting in a denial of service only by manipulating the processed input stream. No user is affected, who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types. XStream 1.4.18 uses no longer a blacklist by default, since it cannot be secured for general purpose.
CVE-2021-39139 | 6 Debian, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 3 more | 21 Debian Linux, Fedora, Snapmanager and 18 more | 2024-11-21 | 8.5 High |
XStream is a simple library to serialize objects to XML and back again. In affected versions this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to load and execute arbitrary code from a remote host only by manipulating the processed input stream. A user is only affected if using the version out of the box with JDK 1.7u21 or below. However, this scenario can be adjusted easily to an external Xalan that works regardless of the version of the Java runtime. No user is affected, who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types. XStream 1.4.18 uses no longer a blacklist by default, since it cannot be secured for general purpose.

CVE-2021-37137 | 6 Debian, Netapp, Netty and 3 more | 23 Debian Linux, Oncommand Insight, Netty and 20 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
The Snappy frame decoder function doesn't restrict the chunk length which may lead to excessive memory usage. Beside this it also may buffer reserved skippable chunks until the whole chunk was received which may lead to excessive memory usage as well. This vulnerability can be triggered by supplying malicious input that decompresses to a very big size (via a network stream or a file) or by sending a huge skippable chunk.
CVE-2021-37136 | 6 Debian, Netapp, Netty and 3 more | 30 Debian Linux, Oncommand Insight, Netty and 27 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
The Bzip2 decompression decoder function doesn't allow setting size restrictions on the decompressed output data (which affects the allocation size used during decompression). All users of Bzip2Decoder are affected. The malicious input can trigger an OOME and so a DoS attack
CVE-2021-36090 | 4 Apache, Netapp, Oracle and 1 more | 36 Commons Compress, Active Iq Unified Manager, Oncommand Insight and 33 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
When reading a specially crafted ZIP archive, Compress can be made to allocate large amounts of memory that finally leads to an out of memory error even for very small inputs. This could be used to mount a denial of service attack against services that use Compress' zip package.
CVE-2021-35517 | 4 Apache, Netapp, Oracle and 1 more | 29 Commons Compress, Active Iq Unified Manager, Oncommand Insight and 26 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
When reading a specially crafted TAR archive, Compress can be made to allocate large amounts of memory that finally leads to an out of memory error even for very small inputs. This could be used to mount a denial of service attack against services that use Compress' tar package.
CVE-2021-35516 | 4 Apache, Netapp, Oracle and 1 more | 26 Commons Compress, Active Iq Unified Manager, Oncommand Insight and 23 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
When reading a specially crafted 7Z archive, Compress can be made to allocate large amounts of memory that finally leads to an out of memory error even for very small inputs. This could be used to mount a denial of service attack against services that use Compress' sevenz package.
CVE-2021-35515 | 4 Apache, Netapp, Oracle and 1 more | 28 Commons Compress, Active Iq Unified Manager, Oncommand Insight and 25 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
When reading a specially crafted 7Z archive, the construction of the list of codecs that decompress an entry can result in an infinite loop. This could be used to mount a denial of service attack against services that use Compress' sevenz package.

CVE-2021-29425 | 5 Apache, Debian, Netapp and 2 more | 69 Commons Io, Debian Linux, Active Iq Unified Manager and 66 more | 2024-11-21 | 4.8 Medium |
In Apache Commons IO before 2.7, When invoking the method FileNameUtils.normalize with an improper input string, like "//../foo", or "\\..\foo", the result would be the same value, thus possibly providing access to files in the parent directory, but not further above (thus "limited" path traversal), if the calling code would use the result to construct a path value.
CVE-2021-22947 | 9 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 6 more | 37 Macos, Debian Linux, Fedora and 34 more | 2024-11-21 | 5.9 Medium |
When curl >= 7.20.0 and <= 7.78.0 connects to an IMAP or POP3 server to retrieve data using STARTTLS to upgrade to TLS security, the server can respond and send back multiple responses at once that curl caches. curl would then upgrade to TLS but not flush the in-queue of cached responses but instead continue using and trustingthe responses it got *before* the TLS handshake as if they were authenticated.Using this flaw, it allows a Man-In-The-Middle attacker to first inject the fake responses, then pass-through the TLS traffic from the legitimate server and trick curl into sending data back to the user thinking the attacker's injected data comes from the TLS-protected server.
CVE-2021-22946 | 9 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 6 more | 40 Macos, Debian Linux, Fedora and 37 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.5 High |
A user can tell curl >= 7.20.0 and <= 7.78.0 to require a successful upgrade to TLS when speaking to an IMAP, POP3 or FTP server (`--ssl-reqd` on the command line or`CURLOPT_USE_SSL` set to `CURLUSESSL_CONTROL` or `CURLUSESSL_ALL` withlibcurl). This requirement could be bypassed if the server would return a properly crafted but perfectly legitimate response. This flaw would then make curl silently continue its operations **withoutTLS** contrary to the instructions and expectations, exposing possibly sensitive data in clear text over the network.
CVE-2021-22118 | 4 Netapp, Oracle, Redhat and 1 more | 34 Hci, Management Services For Element Software, Commerce Guided Search and 31 more | 2024-11-21 | 7.8 High |
In Spring Framework, versions 5.2.x prior to 5.2.15 and versions 5.3.x prior to 5.3.7, a WebFlux application is vulnerable to a privilege escalation: by (re)creating the temporary storage directory, a locally authenticated malicious user can read or modify files that have been uploaded to the WebFlux application, or overwrite arbitrary files with multipart request data.
CVE-2020-8908 | 5 Google, Netapp, Oracle and 2 more | 20 Guava, Active Iq Unified Manager, Commerce Guided Search and 17 more | 2024-11-21 | 3.3 Low |
A temp directory creation vulnerability exists in all versions of Guava, allowing an attacker with access to the machine to potentially access data in a temporary directory created by the Guava API com.google.common.io.Files.createTempDir(). By default, on unix-like systems, the created directory is world-readable (readable by an attacker with access to the system). The method in question has been marked @Deprecated in versions 30.0 and later and should not be used. For Android developers, we recommend choosing a temporary directory API provided by Android, such as context.getCacheDir(). For other Java developers, we recommend migrating to the Java 7 API java.nio.file.Files.createTempDirectory() which explicitly configures permissions of 700, or configuring the Java runtime's java.io.tmpdir system property to point to a location whose permissions are appropriately configured.
